Ice age landscape
Experience a scenic landscape shaped by changing ice ages over 2.5 million years. The last time the ice made its mark was about 18,000 years ago.
It was then the landscape got its distinctive kettle holes and characteristic hills that descend towards Ebeltoft and Kalø inlets.

Man-made landscape
The landscape has also been shaped by the peoples of the past, and the National Park is rich in ancient monuments that date back to the Stone and Bronze Ages. However, the peoples of the Middle Ages left their mark on nature in particular.
The ruins of Kalø Castle are probably the best known.
